What is STP and how does it work?

Single Touch Payroll (STP) works by sending your employees tax and super information from your payroll or accounting software to the ATO each pay run. Each paycycle employers will be required by law to send a report to the ATO which includes the information of the employee, gross pay, PAYG withheld and superannuation information.

When did it start?

From 1 July 2019 EVERY employer is required to be reigistered for STP. (Employers with 20 or more employees already started 1 July 2018).
